When companies and investors talk about their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments, most focus only on environmental issues — and overlook social and governance issues. Of particular concern are human rights violations related to supply chain policies and modern slavery practices. How can we harness the ESG movement to address these and other issues? How can we promote the ESG movement in the face of political backlash? What issues deserve the focused attention of policy makers and the legal profession?
