“[The national security law that takes effect July 1] is China’s attempt to set a red line that people won’t dare to cross, but the problem is that this new law is so tough, detailed and broad that you can’t possibly follow it,” Dennis Kwok told Voice of America. “The authorities know that, but they don’t care if you can comply with the law. They only care that there are legal mechanisms to prosecute those who break the law.”
